VFX
Visual Effects — digital imagery created or manipulated for film and video
Keyframe
A point on the timeline that defines a property's value at a specific time
Composition
A container for layers, similar to a sequence in video editing
Pre-compose
Nesting layers into a new composition for organization
Trim Paths
Effect used to animate SVG/path stroke drawing on or off
Track Matte
Uses one layer's luminance or alpha to mask another layer
Pick Whip
Tool for linking properties between layers or compositions
Expression
JavaScript-based code to automate or link animation properties
Shutter Angle
Controls motion blur intensity (typically 0°–360°)
Anticipation
Preparatory movement before the main action in animation
Blending Mode
Determines how a layer's colors interact with layers beneath
Null Object
Invisible layer used as a parent for controlling other layers
RAM Preview
Renders frames to memory for real-time playback
Motion Path
Visual representation of an object's position animation
Graph Editor
Interface for fine-tuning animation curves and easing
